Short & Sweet

Hi, Everyone!
October's short and sweet. I'm just posting a poem I submitted in a contest. Originally, I had something else in mind. It turned out to be an extremely looong entry. The neat thing about it, though, is that I divided it up into sub-headings, and I even have a part where you can just "cut to the chase" and get to what I hope will be a fun part for you. I hope doing this will make it more palatable for many of you to read when I do post it.
You know I've got to say this. ...  After I had completed it, I just decided to hold off posting it until now, when the contest is almost over. The contest ends October 31, so not many days left.
(By the way, for those who are new, and have no idea what I'm talking about. In my September blog entry,  I mentioned a poetry contest, and I gave the address as www.facebook.com/Lovettpublishing. At this site, you will find my poem, "A Fly On The Wall.")
Okay, back to the subject about the blog entry for October (this month). I got so involved in the writing of it that I started having ideas that this could turn into a small book or booklet project. I started questioning myself, wondering if I'd be wise to put it out as a blog entry. ... And yes, I know I'm sounding mysterious, and that's deliberate. Anyway, we will see. I may or I may not.
I can say that it all seems to be working out, because I can remind people to like my poem and like the Lovett Facebook page. And I do hope you really like both. Like the Lovett Page because it's outstanding. Like my poem because... well, I'll leave that up to you. Just remember, though it's your decision, I'm pushing for you to do 2 likes. Poem and Page or Page and Poem. If you love the page and do not love my poem, then my poem does not get a point that goes toward increasing my number of votes, so if you want to vote for my poem, you just can't click Lovett page, thinking that you voted for me by doing so.
Anyway, enough of my crazy chatter. I'm about to cut to the chase and present the poem. That seems like a good strategy, and maybe, I'll consider putting this long one out for November, and give you more time for that month. For the few days left in October, you will have this poem, which you will ZIP your way through.
May your days be forever blessed and peaceful,
Take care, till next time!
A Fly On The Wall
If I were, momentarily,
A fly on the wall,
I would see and hear everything,
Including the dirt of it all.
I would see the good things,
As well as the bad;
I would see happy things,
As well as the sad.
I would hear it all, and
Then I would know,
Because I would be a fly
In a kind of incognito.
Thoughts, words, and deeds would stem
From things I hear and see,
And I would help create that miracle
And avoid a calamity.
Happiness, I would see shine
On so many faces.
Not only in public, but also
In the privacy of all places.
Yes, it’s me.
I’m a fly on the wall.
Don’t laugh or see me merely
As insignificant and small.
You see, I can be a nuisance,
If that happens to be my wish.
I can land myself on you, anything,
Even your dish.
So don’t try to spray me.
I know how to get away.
And believe me, you’ll regret it,
For I will ruin your day.
Remember, I’m momentarily
A fly on the wall.
I can see and hear everything,
Including the dirt of it all.

The cookies are calling you from the pantry, the chocolate is singing to you from the shelf, and let’s not even talk about the cake that’s beckoning to you from the table top. So we give in!
